THEME FOR WORSHIP
We’ve all said & experienced these words many times:  “It is finished.”  Today, Jesus speaks these words from the cross at the end of His terrible suffering.  With His death many things are finished, but to what exactly is Jesus referring?  What exactly is finished?

With Jesus’ sinless death, the work of your salvation is finished and is given to you.  It is finished.  Done.  Completely.

WORSHIP VIDEO:  Holy Thursday, April 2, 2026

(Video will show as "Unavailable" until the stream begins a few minutes before the service.)

SCRIPTURE READINGS
  Old Testament:  Exodus 24:3-11
                Epistle:  Hebrews 9:11–22
                Gospel:  Matthew 26:17–30

THEME FOR WORSHIP
In the Jewish lives of Jesus and His disciples, today is the Feast of Unleavened Bread, which is called the Passover.  This feast reminds us how the blood of a lamb protected God’s people from death in Egypt.

But today Jesus does a new thing, Jesus gives us a new Passover.  Tomorrow Jesus will sacrifice His own body & blood on the cross, and today He “pays forward” these gifts to us, instituting Holy Communion, His blessed supper.

By forgiving your sins, Jesus passes over the punishment you deserve and sets you free to live a new life!

SCRIPTURE READINGS
  First Reading:  Romans 8:9-11
               Psalm:  Psalm 71:1-8
              Gospel:  Mark 5:1-13

THEME FOR WORSHIP
Today, we confront very real demons, fallen angels who rebelled against God and His giving of Himself to us.  Demons, with Satan chief among them, seek to undermine everything God is and does.  Demons hate us, harm us and work to kill us.
In our sermon, we will hear how Jesus heals a man with a demon by casting the demon out of him (Mark 5:1–13).  Jesus’ work of healing by dominating demons continues today, for you.

WORSHIP VIDEO:  Wednesday, March 11, 2026

SCRIPTURE READINGS
  First Reading:  Romans 10:8-17
               Psalm:  Psalm 80:1-7
              Gospel:  Mark 1:35-39

THEME FOR WORSHIP
God’s  Jesus talks all about seeking us in our texts this week. He does not wait passively until we get up the gumption to ask Him for help. Nor does He act out of selfish gain; everything Jesus does, He does for us.

Praying, teaching, working, are all ordinary things Jesus did for us.  In today’s ordinary things such as water, bread & wine, and His written words, Jesus seeks us out, looks for ways to help us, and ultimately saves us.

WORSHIP VIDEO:  Wednesday, March 4, 2026

SCRIPTURE READINGS
  First Reading:  Hebrews 2:11-18
               Psalm:  Psalm 62:1-6
              Gospel:  Mark 1:9-13

THEME FOR WORSHIP
God’s character, His nature, is self-giving love. Everything Jesus does, He does “for us.” This phrase will be introduced this week in the series hymn. Pro nobis, or “for us,” appears again and again in the series hymn.

Jesus is baptized, fasts, is tempted, overcomes temptation, and, in doing so, begins His work of undoing the power of the devil (Mark 1:9–13). It is especially worth noting that because Jesus suffered when tempted, He can “help those who are being tempted” (Hebrews 2:18). He not only helps us in our weakness, but His love for us extends all the way into the grave.

WORSHIP VIDEO:  Wednesday, February 25, 2026

SCRIPTURE READINGS
    First Reading:  Micah 5:2-5a
Psalm:  Psalm 104:1-10, 33-35      Second Reading: Hebrews 1

THEME FOR WORSHIP
Why did Jesus have to come among us as a human being? Why didn’t He come as an angel or some other kind of being that is stronger and more powerful than us?

While angels may be a source of endless fascination to the Christian and to the world, they have no power to save us.  In this week’s sermon, we will hear why taking on the “robe of  human frame” was not only a good idea but also necessary for our salvation. Angels are wonderful, but they are not Jesus. He came as one of us so that He could redeem us as His own.
